Wow – it’s been a while since I’ve written to you guys,
but there’s no time like the present, right?!
To me, Summer is the best time to give your home (and yourself!) a little self-care! Making simple changes in your home can make any space feel fresh and new. A fresh coat of paint on the walls will definitely add a clean, crisp feel and is a cheaper alternative to wall paper. With Benjamin Moore Paints mixed in-store, there are so many options available, so we thought we’d break it down for you!
For this post I’ve partnered with some of our store experts – Paint Pro, Patrick, and Housewares Merchandiser and Assistant Buyer, Amber– to pull together a list of our most popular Benjamin Moore paint colors and other home accents that will freshen your home for the summer season and beyond.
The easiest space to bring some new life to is the Living Room because this is typically the heart of every home where family and friends gather. Clean grays are some of our most popular colors for living rooms and our top three choices are Balboa Mist, Hazy Skies, and Wickham Gray. These soft colors act as beautiful neutrals for any setting.
Balboa Mist can go anywhere in the house with its warmer casts filtered through a pale gray base. Hazy Skies shows as a moody gray-green with misty-summer-morning vibes, while Wickham Gray is an eye-pleasing gray with soft blue undertones. All fabulous colors that Patrick has expertly matched back to three different shades of white perfect for trims and moldings to really make your room pop. The three most sought-after white paints from our Benjamin Moore counter are Chantilly Lace, White Dove, and Simply White.
When it comes to home décor, adding elegant pieces that reflect your taste makes for a comfortable and pleasing space that you want to share with your loved ones! Making small changes like adding a new piece of décor add to the special feeling you get when you walk into your living space. Amber is a huge part of our home and gift department here at Sunset & Co., and she does a (beyond) fabulous job making the store look beautiful!
I partnered with Amber to get her tops picks to refreshing your living spaces, including a fabulous Dash & Albert rug, our fabulous Rainbow Finial Taper Candle Holders, a luxury acrylic resin vase from a new favorite brand, JR William, bronze taper candle holders, and a stunning Juliska vase.
Adding a simple, yet dynamic, floor rug can really amp up any space. Dash & Albert is a favorite brand of ours because they make rugs with such care and attention to detail – perfect for high-traffic areas such as family rooms, playrooms, or any room that needs playful pops of color or calm neutrals to pull together any space. The Paddywax Realm Taper Candle Holders are so difficult for us to keep in stock because they are just so cute! Their whimsical shape and pastel rainbow tones simply make a room feel bright and happy!
A new and exciting line for us in home and gift is JR William – elegant, hand-poured acrylic in playful silhouettes give an ode to timeless forms and add a modern touch to any setting. The vases come in chic Hamptons White and bold Tortoise Shell to make a stylish statement. Mid-century modern accents add clean lines and geometric shapes to mantles and coffee tables. Crafted from recycled glass melted together and then blown into shape, these candleholders come in 8.5- or 11-inch heights for maximum impact (they do vary in size because of the handcrafted nature). Finally, the Juliska Amalia Vase that adds the flourish and sophistication to any room. Whether left as a stunning, sculptured piece or used for fresh flowers, this fluted vase with delicate rope detail is sure to wow!
